I've searched the forum and it doesn't seem like there's any post on the 3rd brake light not working under the 9-7x forum.

My 3rd brake light sometimes work but not consistent. Seems like no one has this problem. Is there a fuse for the 3rd brake light?

I have not tested the current yet to see if there's power going to the lights but will do so tonight, before ordering a unit from amazon.

Anyone has experienced similar problems?

Update:

So I pulled the connector to the 3rd brake light out from the top of the hatch, used my volt meter to check the following:

1) black wire is common to ground (used latch anchor) - not common
2) the connector has power using the 2 terminals - no power/power
3) volt meter black wire to latch anchor as ground, red wire from volt meter to connector positive - no current/power.

I think the next step is to tap a ground wire and a positive wire from the brake light so the 3rd brake light will be powered when I brake.

But before I do that, can anyone help me and verify the power to the 3rd brake light is a 12V?

Thanks in advance!

Please don't tell me there is a fuse to the 3rd brake light (or please do). I've checked all the fuses and none of them says anything about the 3rd brake light. I have checked all the fuses that are labelled "STOP" or "BRAKE" in both fuse boxes.

Ha, I was going to post that there is a CHMSL wire under the dash if you ever hook up a trailer brake controller. So it was a fair guess to look for the fuse under that same name. Glad you found it! ;ol;
