Question How much should I pay and should I even buy it ?

Hello again
so tomorrow is the day I have to decide on this 2008 Aero 9-7x.
It's a lease back and the problem is I cannot even test drive it.It's an auction sale, closed to the public and opened to dealers only.I have a friend that might be able to bid on it.It has 14000 miles.Since this model has major tranny issues I wonder if i should even think of owning one.If yes please suggest a price that is reasonable. It has no navigation.

thanks
John

This one has a working transmission but I'm worried about buying something relatively new but not reliable .

I think it will go for $25000 -$28000
I'm not sure I want to pay this much considering the 4 speed tranny and the
obsolete chassis , plus the dismal gas mileage.
Maybe 22000.

Why even consider a vehicle that is obsolute with lousy gas economy.
Better would be a VW "SUV" with the Diesel, IMO..
But VW has "quality issues". And this is no lie.
It would be good to know the truth.

Diesel would be my first choice either a Tuareg or a an ML 320.
The price is at least 2 or 3 times more than this vehicle but the torque is just as much plus it's so easy on fuel.
We are so far behind in cars especially diesels ,it's sad.
I'll let you know what it sold for in any event.

At one time, 30 years ago, GM was right behind VW with the Diesel.
But it was , I guess, rushed into production, and was a flop...
Honda has also flopped, but they never gave up..
Our government never helped either, as has the Euro Union.
Now we are 30 years behind the Europeans on two( or many ) counts...
