Guys, I just got a G2 Paint Kit for the calipers. Did it tonight, and am very impressed with quality. Here's a few pics. See attachments. It was alot cheaper than getting a Brembo brake kit...hmmm...38 dollars or 2000 dollars...lets see...If anyone is interested, let me know and I'll get you the info of where I got it. great, quick service. Let me know your opinions.

Looks great.
Give us an update after they have been cleaned with brake cleaner, how the paint holds up w/ useage. |

Search for "G2 caliper paint kit" on ebay, $28 including shipping, but I have no comments on it either way, only happen to know someone who just bought it there.

Well it's a two part epoxy paint so it needs to be done semi-quickly. I had one of my friends come over and help. The wheels need to be taken off but the calipers can stay on. We taped off the rotors and all the rubber pieces (since the paint eats through it) then started the first coat. He did one side while I did the other. It probably took about 30 minutes. Then you have to wait about 15 to 20 minutes before you apply the second coat. btw, the first coat usually looks pretty crappy but once the second coat goes on, it looks REAL nice. anyway, we put the second coat on which took about 15 minutes. Then you have to leave the wheels off the car for about 2 hours. The car can't be driven for 24 hours to ensure the epoxy is completely dry. Hope this helps. also, if you can get it for 28 plus shipping on ebay, go ahead. I got mine through tirerack.com. i payed 38 for the kit plus 9.66 for 2 day shipping. good luck

I just finsihed painting mine the G2 Blue. On the Arctic Silver, it looks pretty sharp. Its over my in-laws house, cozy in their garage while it dries/sets.
Tomorrow, when I go over to take a dip in the pool, I'll snap some shots. I'll try to wash it before hand too, for your viewing pleasure... |

I used VHT Black on the rears on my Audi (fronts are Brembos, so they're powder coated). Seems to be holding up fine. Don't intend to do the caliper on the Saabaru, although the paint seems to help slow down corrosion. All I did was
wire brush, thorough dousing with brake cleaner, and sprayed away. About $8. Just wish it was availible in a satin, rather than glossy, finish. Scargo |

Caliper paint is great, just make certain to take care if using brake cleaner, some types will spoil the paint.
And if you drive your car hard, such as track use, almost all the caliper paints will burn-off a bit. I've gone over to manifold paint +1000 degrees F as it is so much cheaper to slap a new coat on every other year. |

Do you think the G2 Epoxy paint will wear off under track conditions also? |

Can't find a pic at moment.
Most paints change color or dissapear if you get your brakes real hot, but this will not happen except on track. Smoke from pads plus enough heat off the front wheels to roast a hot-dog on a stick nearby are not likely experiences for most 'normal' Saab owners, but us lunatics do go there... |

i actually just bought this the other day. How easy would you say it is to apply. I have a free day tomorrow and was thinking about doing it then. Id have to apply it then let it settle for a bit and pull the car outside, would that tiny bit of driving affect the paint?

http://www.apexpointphotography.com/...ts/brakes1.jpg I think the paint system kicks ***. It went on easy (do not seperate it into plastic cups, it will melt them

Update to this thread, Ive had this paint on for around a year now and on my left rear caliper there are two tiny spots of rust coming through. Make sure you condition your caliper well before applying! After seeing this I would recommend removing the caliper and giving it a good sanding paying special attention to the large visible areas.
