I currently own a 2004 Saab 9-3 aero. The passenger side doesnt self level anymore and a friend said the self leveling is stripped. What do I do in this case. Also when I turn to the right I hear something hitting I think its the brake pad hitting the rotor?? Could I be right. I recently bought the car so im not sure. Also the fuel gage does not work if its completely full but starts working a little above 3/4s of a tank. I am also in need of a front spoiler if anyone has one for sale.

As a priority I would have a check of the coil spring.
Mine snapped and ripped the front tyre apart whilst I was driving. The noise when turning could be the broken spring hitting the tyre/wheel |

I don't think you can just buy the stepper motor to replace in the headlight... even if you could I would have to assume it is a major pain fitting it in from the little opening in the back of the light where you would replace the bulb. If this is really your problem it looks like you may have to get a new headlight, I would look at salvage yards before contacting a dealer I would venture to guess the dealer will want 600+ for a new one.
Since the light isn't leveling do you get a warning? Did you or your friend pull the dust cap off the back of the light to make sure you can hear/see the stepper motor move when the lights are first turned on? I would check and recheck the light again. This is the first time I have ever heard of this problem and it being blamed on a stripped stepping motor. As far as the sound, you would need to be more specific. Is it extremely loud. Is it just a thud then gone? Most common problems that seem to cause noise in the front are. Sway bar bushings, strut mounts, coil springs. |

I hear the motor for self leveling work and it works so slightly and then it stops. As far as when turning to the right I think it has something to do with the brake pads but im not sure.

I'm confused.... the brake pads are basically always hitting the rotors... They would make noise most of the time if they were the cause, not just when turned. You still havn't explained hat kind of sound are you hearing. Metal on metal scrapping? Popping sound? Thuds? Clanks?
