Safety
The Saab 9000 is a very safe car, with consistent but “forgiving” characteristics integrated into its chassis. Within certain limits, it “corrects” the driver’s minor errors and always behaves predictably. The interior is enveloped by a cage of sturdy steel members. The whole of the interior is carefully designed to eliminate sharp edges and hard surfaces, to protect the driver and passengers.
The road safety of the Saab 9000 is designed to reduce the likelihood of accidents to an absolute mini mum. Safety and consistency have therefore been designed into the chassis to ensure predictable road behaviour at all times whatever the road and wind conditions, even if you are forced to accelerate, decelerate or brake in a curve. And since most of the weight is suppor ted by the driven front wheels, whatever the load in the cars its fun darnental road behaviour will always be the same.
Saab collaborate closely with road safety experts, researchers and a team of doctors who constantly study, compile and evaluate the results of car accidents. That way we are able to improve even more on the already excellent safety standards of the Saab cars.
“Special emphasis has been placed on comfort and safety of the interior. In this respect, Saab products have always been exemplary….” AUSTRO MOTOR- Austria
