Characteristics / Driver environment

Driver’s seat of anatomically correct design and with many adjustment facilities:

Logical location of instruments and controls:

High level, recessed, non-reflecting instrument panel. Large, circular analogue ins truments with white figures and yellowish-orange pointers against a black background:

• The instrument can be identified and the reading interpret ed quickly and correctly
• Clearly readable by peripheral vision.

Indirect green instrument illumination:

• Non-dazzling
• Restful on long journeys at night
• Best lighting combination for accurate reading when re focusing between remote and close-up vision at night

Clear, international symbols, including pictogram, for check ing certain safety functions:

• Easy-to-understand indicatlions
• Monitors the external lamps and warns the driver of improperly shut doors.

Modular centre console:

• The radio, amplifier, ashtray, etc. can he located to suit the owner
• Includes provision for fitting a mobile telephone.

The padded, thick-rimmed steering wheel is of relatively small diameter and is adjust able along the steering column. The angle of slope has been determined by comprehensive tests:
