Saab 900 5-door

The Saab 900 is available in three body styles: a five-door sports saloon, a coupé and a convertible.

The five-door is naturally the most convenient for rear-seat passengers and also the most practical if you need to carry a lot. That’s not to say it is a car to choose just for rational reasons.

The S version offers you standard features like central locking, electric windows and heated electric door mirrors. Go for the SE variant and you’ll also get more luxurious two-tone velour upholstery, air conditioning and colour keyed bumpers. And of course you can choose optional equipment such as a trip computer and an electrically adjustable driver’s seat with a memory facility.

The five-door models are powered by a 2.0 or 2.3 litre injection engine or a 2.0 litre turbocharged unit, all equipped with twin balancer shafts for extra quietness and smoother operation.

Alternatively you may select the 2.5 litre V6 engine, with 170 hp and a Traction Control System (TCS) to harness the power.

Saab 900 Coupé

With its sweeping curves, the Coupé is designed to appeal to the driving enthusiast in you. But you don’t have to compromise on practicality.

The choice of engine takes on added significance in a Coupé. Choose between a range of injection engines stretching from a 2.0 litre unit producing 130 hp, a 2.3 litre unit offering 150 hp and a 2.5 litre V6 with 170 hp.

The most potent alternative is our 185 hp 2.0-litre Turbo. It not only produces plenty of torque at low engine speeds, it is also quiet, silky-smooth and easy on the environment, thanks in part to Saab’s unique Trionic engine management system. Match the power of the turbo engine to the slick shift of Saab Sensonic and you can change gear manually without a clutch pedal. And for that extra grip, we offer a sports chassis riding on 16-inch light alloy wheels.

Like its five-door stablemates, the Saab 900 Coupé is available in S and SE trim levels. And of course you can further personalise your Coupé from our extensive list of options and accessories.

Saab 900 Convertible

The road unwinds ahead of you and the hood is down. The wind is in your hair, the sun is warm, the sights and sounds flash by—a convertible is the most rewarding means of transport.

But naturally you also want that extra touch of comfort. The Saab 900 Convertible was developed in Scandinavia, where we made sure it is as suitable for a winter skiing holiday as it is for cruising with the hood down along the sunny corniche. Inviting leather seats offer comfortable accommodation for four adults. The triple-layer hood keeps both noise and weather at bay. The rear window is made of glass, and of course it is heated.

To open up to the heavens, just undo two catches, press a button, and the entire hood purrs gently into a separate compartment, covered automatically by a fairing. And to open up even more, press another button and all the windows will slip silently out of the way.
